George Washington walkingstick, Freemason

The George Washington Masonic Walkingstick was made in 2004, is in perfect condition, and stands over five feet tall.

The design consists of two patterns down the length of the stick, each with a different design, both painted in red and blue (the stick itself is white aspen). The design and lettering is woodburned, the paint is acrylic, and a polyurethane finish is applied.

There are two quotations on the stick. The first is by George Washington, a Freemason: "Government is not reason, It is not eloquence. It is force; like a fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action."

The second bit of verse states: "George Washington was born in 1732. At the 2nd Continental Congress, he was elected Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. In 1781 with the help of the French, he forced the British to surrender. On April 30th 1789, Washington became the first President of the United States."
